We were approached by Cambridge University Estates Facilities to produce a professional car parking permit that could be used across the thirty two University car parks. Given the number of vehicles using the various sites in a year, the decision had been taken to use an instantly recognisable, robustly made permit to simplify usage and checking procedures.
The permits were designed as square in shape incorporated a security hologram and a peel and stick surround.
The permits were printed on an A4 integrated form with supporting information of how to use the permit , so no additional paper was wasted sending out instructions for use. A total of 5000 were printed and supplied to the University to then be over-printed with each relevant staff member’s details. After that, permit holders simply need to pop out the permit and attach it to the car windscreen – simple!
This new annual car parking permit is instantly recognisable and will enable quick recognition of anyone with an out of date permit – or no permit to park at all! It is a relatively simple item, even with the holographic print for security, but it dramatically simplifies the procedures for those monitoring them, and was quick and easy to produce, keeping the end user in mind all the time. Many businesses and organisations have complex administrative processes – perhaps there are more things you can think of that could be simplified by thinking print!
