Adrian, Account Manager at Victoire and customer to Plumbs’ Dairy, saw an opportunity to improve existing communication with customers. Plumbs were using an ‘off the shelf’ continuous invoice form that didn’t allow for any branding, was dated in style and colour and was inflexible. It simply didn’t represent the quality of service provided by Plumbs, a young and forward thinking dairy. Due to the rigid layout of the template, it meant useful messages to customers were difficult to read over the pre-printed design. They could be improved!
Working closely with Plumbs’ director Justin Plumb, Adrian designed a new template that could be branded with their logo and corporate look and generally be more flexible. The new layout would allow for the messages to be seen, therefore maximising the uptake of ‘timely’ offers presented to customers. It was also identified that a series of this new invoice template would be useful over the coming months, each promoting a different range of products. Planning ahead and scheduling which offers would be available has enabled a more structured approach/campaign for the dairy to maximise the opportunity to sell peripherals to run alongside the day to day milk deliveries.
Costs were kept to a minimum on this project by Victoire’s studio team converting the cmyk logo to three spot colours. To ensure the new design worked for all sizes of Plumbs’ customers (some bills were longer than others) a short sample run was produced before the order for 60,000 across five different designs was confirmed.
With milk rounds starting early each morning, for some customers the invoice they receive at the end of the month is the only contact they will have. The new invoice now reflects the company and service provided, it’s modern, fresh and above all, communicates clearly with the customers.
Justin Plumb said, “I was approached by Adrian regarding our invoices as he is one of our customers, and felt that Victoire may be able to help us improve the quality of our invoicing. This was something I had looked into before but was unfortunately cost prohibitive to progressing.
At our initial meeting we agreed a scope for design for Adrian to make a proposal. I was very pleased with the initial design and the cost was competitive given the vastly improved brand image that we would be able to promote. Having now received the final product, I am very pleased as we have been rewarded with a very bespoke invoice that serves to promote our brand but also doubles to promote our seasonal offers, which I am sure will go a long way to enhancing our business. I look forward to us developing a strong working relationship in the future”.
