Thinking Inside the Box

SPL is a European industrial group which designs and manufactures a wide range of products for safety, comfort and information-sharing required by local authorities and private companies.Victoire-Press-SPL-Materials

With products manufactured in France at four production sites employing over 150 people, the company has an established network of resellers and distributors across the UK and Europe.

Wishing to target the vast American market and develop new outlets for their products, SPL worked with Victoire to create a mailing device that could be used to send the wide range of marketing literature. With three separate brands, the product ranges include the following:

–    street furniture and access control
–    furniture for parks and amenity spaces
–    industrial and commercial workplace equipment
–    safety and security mirrors
–    outdoor and indoor notice boards

With a weight of around two kilos, the result was a bespoke cardboard box designed to fit the full pack, and made of suitably strong board. To speed up the process of compiling the mailing packs, the box has double-sided tape for easy and secure closing. A “zipper rule” opening device enables the receiver to easily open the box. After supplying a live sample for approval, a run of 500 boxes was put in place, supplied flat packed for easy storage.

The box and accompanying brochures were made available to prospective interested resellers, having already been mailed a “taster” in the form of a concertina multi-fold colour leaflet, outlining the diversity of SPL’s products. A metre in length, this was designed as a real eye-catcher, and was sent with an A4 letterhead, pre-printed with the required letter content.

The printed items were delivered to SPL for them to compile the packs and mail in controlled amounts from their database.

The project outlines Victoire’s diversity across different production methods, and our ability to offer truly bespoke solutions across print and packaging media.
