At Victoire we are proud to take a responsible attitude towards the environment. Wherever possible we recycle materials and always try to work as efficiently as possible. As a printing company however, we are conscious that a pretty heavy usage of paper is inevitable, and of course as with any business the day to day operations leave a sizeable carbon footprint.
So, we decided to take steps to counteract that usage. We have therefore signed up with the Carbon Capture scheme in association with the Woodland Trust. This ensures that trees are being replaced thanks to our contributions, helping to reduce carbon dioxide and replenish materials.
The Woodland Carbon project not only helps companies to offset their carbon dioxide emissions and raw material usage, it also creates new wildlife habitats, aids flood alleviation and wind protection, and of course creates beautiful natural spaces for the general public to enjoy.
Our Carbon Footprint Policy will help us to improve both operational performance and a reduction in potentially harmful emissions to land, water, and air. We are strongly committed to reducing our carbon emissions to 0%, and the Carbon Capture Scheme is just one initiative in helping us achieve our goal.
One tonne of paper purchased equates to 14 m2 of woodland and captures half a tonne of Co2 – given the amount of paper that is used each year, we know this will have an impact and are delighted to be participating in such a scheme.
Our Carbon Policy is just one of our existing Environmental, Procurement, Waste Management, Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, and Corporate Responsibility Policies already implemented throughout the Company.
