Macmillan Coffee Morning: Rising To The Challenge

Last month, we threw ourselves into our third Macmillan coffee morning, their biggest campaign held every year, to Macmillan coffee morning 2015 Victoire Print's cakesraise funds towards their amazing cancer care services.

Dare we say it, we think this year was the best one yet!

From our raffle to games to voting being held for the much sought after ‘Star Baker’ award, not to mention all the amazing cakes donated on the day, there was plenty for our guests to enjoy.

We’d like to say thanks to Huntingdon Racecourse who provided us with race day tickets for our raffle as well as lots of brownies, also to Eat The Rainbow who provided afternoon tea to be won and Seals Swimming Club who donated a £40 voucher. Thanks to many more who donated prizes such as wine and chocolate…oh, and a big congratulations to all our raffle winners!

After furious baking from our staff all week, plus extra goodies kindly donated to us, we had an impressive spread for our guests to tuck into. From mocha marble cake to gluten free brownies (thanks to The Square Peg!) to beetroot cake (yes, really!), our amazing staff members really outdid themselves!

And was our current Star Baker, Dominic, the two-year running champion, knocked off the top spot? He was! Well done to Lyn Gentry who won the majority of votes with her yummy carrot cake.

Of course, the reason we held the coffee morning and why so many people turned up and donated was to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care. Our day raised £780.00 which we’re so proud to send off to the charity who have so far received a whopping £9,197,291.08 for their coffee morning campaign.

Thanks to all who got involved – our staff are already planning how to knock Lyn off the Star Baker spot next year!
