Last Friday we held our MacMillan coffee morning here at Victoire HQ. Yet again, we were absolutely delighted with the number of people who came and supported the morning with guests and customers arriving promptly at 10am when doors were open!
Here at Victoire it really is a group effort, with lots of cakes being baked from the whole Victoire team and not to mention the legendary sausage rolls made by Yvonne.
This year Lyn baked a delicious gin and tonic cake which had a naughty gin icing and candied lime; needless to say this was very popular. And the plum and almond cake made by Yvonne was sublime, a delicate sponge with almond overtones with slices of plum running through.
Adrian’s coffee cake was a big favourite as was the chocolate, fruit and nut refrigerator cake made by Jeremy!
After sampling the various cakes on offer, guests were invited to vote for their favourite cake and ‘star baker’. Yvonne was announced winner of this much coveted award, but that might have something to do with the fact she also made the Bakewell tart and millionaire shortbread. Well done Yvonne you truly are a star baker!
Thanks to everyone who entered the “Spot The Cake” competition, the winner was Amy from Domino UK – her prize is on its way to her!
We’d like to thank everyone who came and ate cake and supported this fantastic cause. We’re still currently collecting donations but as it stands we’ve raised £715 which we’re delighted with.
