Pantone have released a new low-cost colour management range. ColorMunki has been produced as a low-cost color control programme aimed at graphic designers and photographers. The ColorMunki range features a spectrophotometer* and colour-control software.
Helmut Eifert, vice president of Pantone Europe, said:
"We would still expect printers to use the i1 range, but clearly using ColorMunki colour control is better than using no colour control at all."*Wikipedia tells me that a spectrophotometer is "...a device for measuring light intensity...that can measure intensity as a function of the color, or more specifically, the wavelength of light." So that clears that up then.
